I’ve linked this TED lecture in one of my previous posts, but I don’t think it received its due credit.

Sir Ken Robinson is amazingly spot on, and makes amazing points about how our education system should be branched.

Branched, not to seperate kids from their friends, actually keep them together for the most part, as most knowledge is common, and should be spread through school to prepare for the future, but to allow children’s abilities and natural talents to flourish.

Not everyone is great at math, and literary arts, some people learn in different ways, and express their talent in different ways, and our education system needs to be constructed to reflect this, at a much earlier time.

Only in high school, and university, do we allow the kids to choose their path, and use their natural talents. Children should be evaluated on their abilities, and learning styles, and taught accordingly.

Who knows how many amazing talented people have had their abilities stifled, or even thrown to the wayside, because the education system didn’t accommodate their skills properly.

The children are our future, let them each use and develop their skills properly, and effectively, its essential to progressing our society.
